System Req. for Access (XP Home/SP2)

    Hi,
This may sound bizzare but I have a friend who has a celeron D 2.66 GHz PC and wants to buy Office for the express purpose of putting together an Access database. So I would think he'd have no problems (he doesn't know VB) as it would be very basic Access functions. Although MS recommends a pentium class processor. Probably about 3000 records or name & address type.
    Thanks.
No laughs please... I wouldn't own a celeron so it's not an issue for me.

The Celeron should work, since I've seen it described as a watered-down P4 with half the cache. <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15> However, he doesn't need to buy Office unless he wants to. Access can be purchased as a standalone product.

Thank you and I'll pass the stand-alone purchase option on to him. I forgot about that.

I can vouch for the Celeron - I personally ran one for about a year in a desktop, and still use one occasionally in a laptop and run Access 2002. Not obviously on large or computationally complex projects, but they work fine for small Access databases.
