Date Formating

Does anyone know how to have a preset format for date context in a form for Frontpage. I have looked everywhere and cannot find anything. I want the users to be able to just tab through and have the date format already set and the year fixed. Any ideas?

Also, how can you make the spacing between the lines closer. I set it to single line spacing and it is still more like double line.

    1.
My suggestion would be to either:

In the Form Field dialog box create a sample of the date format you want, this is useful to prompt the user what the desired format (but that will not actually control what is entered.

Alternately, break your date into 3 separate fields. Using the Form Field Validation dialog box to force the user to enter only numbers of a specific length ie 4 digit year, 2 digit month (no greater than 12), 2 digit date (no greater than 31.
That is about as close as you can get to date controls. You will also have to concatenate (glue) those separate fields back into one date field in your database (but that's a problem only when you get data in your database )>

Are you asking about spacing in your form? You could use Shift + enter to create the break command.[/list]Hope this helps

Some ideas on date formatting here at the Javascript Sorce. Are you looking for (eg) the current date to be the default offered?

As for line spacing, check what you have under Spacing: Before and After in the paragraph formatting window. This seems to take precedence over the line spacing set.

Another thought on date formatting. Check the form properties. One of the fields you can ask FP to automatically collect is the date the user submits the form, perhaps this is more effective than asking the user to enter the information.

Re: Leif's suggestion on using the paragraph formatting Space: Before and After, a quick note - the default is usually blank, but it's NOT zero! If you want it to be nothing, you have to set it to nothing (zero). Just a thought.
