Download csv et al files (IE6)

Pardon me if this is old hat, but I've searched the archives and no luck.
On a site with option to download a csv or zip file, when I go to download said file I am presented with option to save/open etcetera.
I go to save it and dialogue browse opens. The file name profferred is very long and consists of the unique number for the file.
Downloading completes in next to no time and the resultant file is empty, although it has been created.
I'm sure I've had this before and it is a straight forward switch setting.
    Any offers?

    TIA

Possibly some kind of firewall/filter on your computer is blocking the file? Some look at the file extension, and many .zip files lately seem to contain malware. Can you download a .doc or .jpg file (e.g., a Lounge attachment)?

No firewall problems or filter restrictions.

Just found out that it is down to the security setting.
In Tools>Internet Options select the advanced tab, scroll down to security and make sure the "Do not save encrypted files to disk" is checked.
This then saves the files as "non-encrypted" and hence full and usable.
    Strange, but it worked.

    Thanks
