create database method with Access 2003 (vb 6.0 and Access 2003)

    Hello,
I have a vb app the creates an access database if one does not exist in the directory. It creates a 97 version, and I want it to be a 2003 version. I am using the createdatabase method with the default option for dbVersion30, which seems to be the newest version.

Does anybody know which options or arguments to use? Is there a trick as to which library to load? I am new to this so no answer is too simple.
    Thanks, Chris

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

CreateDatabase is a DAO method. DAO 3.6 can create a Jet 4.0 database that can be opened by Access 2000, 2002 (XP) and 2003. To do so, either omit the Option argument, or use dbVersion40 (the online help is not correct here).

DAO does not distinguish between the Access 2000 and Access 2002/2003 database formats.

Note: make sure that you have a reference (Project | References...) to the Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library, not to a lower version.

    Hans,

Thank you very much. This worked perfectly. It is always nice to be able to save hours of researching.
