    User Profiles in Win 2000

In Win 2k, I am trying to set up a restricted user profile, so that a user needs to log on and have only limited privileges. I have set up a 'Guest' using the icon in Control Panel, but I cannot get the profile to appear in User Profiles (from System). This means that when trying to logon, I get an error message to the effect that 'Windows cannot log you on because the profile cannot be loaded'.
DETAIL : the system cannot find the file specified.
Using the Help in Win2k for User Profiles, Creating just tells you how to copy one somewhere else. What am I missing?

Did you actually use the name 'Guest'?
If so, I think you may be conflicting with the built in Guest account. (Especially if it's disabled.)

No, I actually used Guest2 and also a name. These all appear to be 'users' but the Profiles don't get stored, which probably means I'm missing out some vital step. I re-enabled the guest account (so the red cross disappeared) but I still can't use it to log-on.
It may be the NTFS5/FAT32 difference.
