Pro vs Home in the Gaming arena.

I've seen people say to stay away from WinXP Home and to get XP Professional. Ok, what drawbacks does Home have over Pro? I'll be honest in the fact that I do want better game support than I have under 2k. If Home is nothing but a stripped down version of Pro, then I'm for Pro 100%.

But, is there anything with Pro that might make it a worse gaming OS than Home?

only diff is lack of security options (file level security etc) and dual monitors. might be a few others - but game wise, both are the same.

I agree with MaryJ, I will go for the Pro version. The net working is MUCH BETTER and with the net work games the Pro works great according to those that are playing. I am testing Pro, but I am NOT a gamer.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

I have tested both versions (Beta 2)

I prefer Pro which gives you more control on setting it up, but Home is very simple to setup.

Both have DirectX 8.0 support but I would use 98 or ME for gaming.
