    Export to Excel (Office 2000)

    To all in the know,
I am not sure if this is an issue with Excel or Win Xp, however, here goes.
Our company recently exchanged out our computers for new ones and they came with packaged software accordingly. The problem I have is that prior to the exchange I used to be able to go to a site on the Intranet web site that contained numbers and if I highlighted an area I could right click with the mouse and a drop down window would come up that had "Export to Excel" I would click on that and it in turn would open my Excel program and allow me to import those numbers into a spreadsheet so that I could perform different calcs accordingly.
Please let me know if there is something that I can do.
    Thanks

Well, with Excel 2000 you could do it he other way around:

In excel select Data, get external data, new web query. The enter the url of the page containing the numbers and hit OK.

If you are willing to edit the registry, here is a picture of the setting that controls the context menu item. You can see the complete registry path in the status bar. The Office10 in the path on the right hand side is for Office XP, omit the 10 for Office 2000.
