Search for question mark (Excel 2000)

    Hi
This should be a quick question - I hope!
I've entered some cells on a large spreadsheet with question marks '???' to indicate something I need to come back to. But I can't search for them! If I search for ??? it treats the question marks as wildcards, and not real characters. The similar Word dialog box has a check box for wildcards or not. But Excel doesn't.
I could copy the data over to Word and search for it there, but it's a big spreadsheet and takes more than 2 minutes to paste into Word!
Any ideas how I can search for a question mark (or an asterisk) character in Excel?
    Thanks
    Peter

Precede each wildcard character with a tilda ~.
So to search for cells containing a question mark, enter ~? in the Find What box, and to find three consecutive question marks, enter ~?~?~? in the Find What box.
Similarly, use ~* to search for an asterisk.

    Excellent - thanks guys.
Now why couldn't MS put that in the help. Or in the dialog box. Or somewhere. ;-(

I don't have Excel 2000, but if I type wildcard in the Index of the online help file for Excel 2002, the first subject found explains the use of ?, * and ~.

Yeah, it is in Excel 2000 help under wildcard as well. :-)
Why didn't MS have a link from the Find Text help page?
