    Mailing Labels (2K)

    Hi all,
I am trying to make reports for mailngs using Avery labels 5160 and 5161. Each post I have found thus far refers to using the Label Wizard. Anyone know where I can figure out how to do this the manual way? Of course there are no wizards installed on this ancient version that I am using!!

    Thanks!
    Sarah

If you go to the new reports dialog box do you not have the Labels Wizard? I think it was in Access 2000.

Activate the Reports section of the database window.
Click the New button in the toolbar at the top of the database window.
The last option in the New Report dialog will be Label Wizard.
If it isn't, you'll need to insert the Office 2000 CD into your CD-ROM drive and select the option to add or modify components.

    Thanks Carla and Hans,
This is a network computer. An old one. There doesn't seem to be anyway to update the 2K Access and modify the components. Can you only make the label reports with the wizard?

    Thanks! Sarah

It's entirely possible to create label reports manually, but it'll probably take a lot of fine-tuning to get it right. All the essential settings are in the Columns tab of the File | Page Setup dialog. Here, you can set the number of columns (=number of labels in one row), the column width (=label width) and row height (=label height) and the column distance (= horizontal space between the labels) and the row distance (=vertical space between the labels), etc.

Thanks! Hopefully it won't come to that. I will try to make the labels on my home computer and import them into the work file. With luck, the formatting issues will be left at a minimum. I just thought I would try to see if someone had gone through the pain of that fine tuning before me <img src=/S/wink.gif border=0 alt=wink width=15 height=15> Sarah
