    ordinal 36 missing (97 Service pack 2)

I'm running Office 97 Pro on my xp home addition os. I purchased a Sharp oz-290H Electronic organizer that is suppose to interface with Outlook. I want to use this for keeping tract of my Schedule. When I click on Outlook from Programs I get the following message. "Outlook.exe - ordinal not found the ordinal 36 could not be located in the dynamic link library map.32.dll. I've uninstalled and reinstalled my Office 97 with the SP 1 and 2 and still get this message. I must admit I only use Word in the Office package up till now. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

    TIA
    Karpat

Thanks for the heads up. I still have the problem of not being able to open Outlook on my computer even when the orginizer is not connected to my pc. I get the message I mentioned in my first email.

Have you tried Office Update? Just in case your mapi32.dll file got out of sync with the rest of the suite, you might want to check that you have all the updates: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeup...0226191033.aspx. The Outlook-specific list might have some different stuff: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeup...0226311033.aspx. In a perfect world, you would upgrade at least to Outlook 98; it was included free in the book Microsoft Outlook 98 (Step By Step), but obviously that will be hard to find these days...

Thanks for the links. My outlook now opens when I click on it from programs. I also did all the updates they offered. To top it all off I found the Microsoft Outlook 98 (Step By Step) new including shipping for under $5.00 and ordered it. You have been a blessing, thanks
