    family trees in FP ((((FP2002 (10.2623.2625)))) )

Does anyone know whether there are themes or facilities of some sort within FP for laying out a basic family tree on a webpage?

    Thanks.

Think that first post was pretty unclear. I'll try again.

All I'm trying to do is create a flow chart type diagram showing a family tree of rock bands. I want to have the name of each band in rectangular boxes, with the names of the band members under each box, and where they went to indicated (ie: new bands they formed after leaving the original band). That is, each box will be connected to other rectangular boxes, representing the evolution of the bands as they formed. Clear as mud?

I have been trying to do it the hard way, using tables in FP, but realise I'm making life very hard for myself. Have experimented in Excel and Word, and haven't really worked out the best solution yet. Would be grateful for some advice, if anyone has experience setting up flow chart type diagrams like this and putting them on webpages using FP.

    Cheers

I'm hoping that if you have FP 2002 you also have PPT 2002. Create your org chart in PPT, then right click on the org chart and choose to save it as a picture in JPEG format. Insert that into your web page.

One issue with importing powerpoint structure charts is that they they do go in as drawings. This means that if you create hotspots which are linking your trees together.... Change the tree and you have to create a new drawing, paste it in and reset all the hotspots.

True - I guess the question is how often you need to remove people from your family tree <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>.

Just a quick follow-up for anyone interested. I actually ended up creating a flow chart in Excel and importing it to my FP web. Looks great, and is easy to change if necessary.

    Cheers
