The keyboard is not detected during bootup sequence. I have tried other keyboards with the computer but still no luck. Is there a way to test the DIN plug to see if is working?

Practically speaking, the easiest way is with another, known working keyboard.
As this appears to have drawn a blank, next step may be to check the physical (electrical) connections of the socket on the mother board. Does it feel at all loose? You may need to resort to checking the underside of the MB to eyeball the soldered connections - you may be able to spot a bad joint.
