is it paste special I need? (97)

(I am limited to only using excel 97 at work - till they upgrade....)
I have a spreadsheet that has 12 or so worksheets with many links/formulas between them. At the end of each month it is only one worksheet that is required by my boss (contains all the information he needs). How do I copy/paste/paste special/save as etc or ? the values and formats only (without formulas) from this only workbook to a new spreadsheet just containing this worksheet with exact values and format. This then spreadsheet is saved on another drive/network so links between cells wont work.

    Hope you follow my ramblings

1- Open the workbook and then open a new workbook.
2- Go to the worksheet that the boss needs and select the whole workbook (or just the part that he needs if he doesn't need all of it), and then select Edit/Copy.
3- Go to the new workbook and select cell A1 on an empty sheet.
4- Select Paste Special from the Edit menu.
5- Click on Values in the Paste section of the dialog box to put a tick mark next to it.
    6- Click OK.
7- If you copied the entire worksheet in step 2, go to step 8. If not, then go back to the original sheet and select and copy the entire sheet.
8- Go back to the sheet where you pasted in steps 4-6 and select cell A1.
9- Select Paste Special from the Edit menu.
10- In the dialog box, Click on Formats in the Paste section to put a tick mark next to it.
    11- Click OK.

You can now save the new workbook with the sheet your boss needes.

First of all, welcome to the lounge.

Try clicking on the entire worksheet you want to copy the data from. The picture below reflects where to click.(above row 1 and left of column A) then right click and select copy. Don't worry about the links or formulas as you will be doing a paste special/values to another blank worksheet. Now in the blank worksheet, once again click on the entire workbook and right click and select paste special - as values. At this point the cell contents are all values no formulas. Right click again on the sheet, select paste special and this time select formats.
