    Saving Information

Is there any software you might recommend for storing all types of data (email, web pages, word docs, pdf's, all types of picture formats, etc.) in one place ? I currently have items in so many places, I need a list of the locations to start looking <img src=/S/hairout.gif border=0 alt=hairout width=31 height=23> !!! Thanks in advance for any help !!!!!

    Re: Saving Information

There are a few that come to mind. Requirements vary widely, so I'd suggest a "try it and see" approach.

    Tranglos Software: KeyNote
! Treepad: Personal Information Manager, Notes Organizer, Word Processor, PIM, Database and more!
    (Lite version is freeware)
GS Notes all-in-one personal organizer software: personal information manager, daily planner and contact manager
(GoldenSection Notes 1.30 is the last freeware version available).
    Skwyrul PRO

    All available in <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15>ware versions.

You might want to take a look at SmartPix Manager - although NOT free, it is very flexible in what it manages. From their website:
"The complete Management and Viewing solution for large collections of images and multimedia files. Smart Pix allows you to quickly and easily catalogue and search your files using keywords and descriptions.
Smart Pix Manager supports a wide variety of image, video, sound, text, HTML and Office formats, such as, BMP, EMF, GIF, Animated GIF, JPEG, TIFF, WMF, MIDI, MP3, DOC, XLS, HTML, AVI, MOV, MPEG, etc. It offers advanced viewing and file management features, as well as file encryption, password protection and HTML and e-mail support".

Appears to handle most everything - except e-mail. Maybe one of the new desktop search engines?

The 'My Documents' folder & sub-folders is an attempt to give some organization. You could also install one of the tools from Google Search: desktop search. That way you could still store stuff wherever you wish and be able to find it easily.
