Remotely edit Template path (Office 2002 SP3)

I want everyone's Word/Excel to use templates that are on our file server so I don't have to manually push templates to the PCs. I can accomplish this by modifying the Workgroup templates path (Tools - Options - File locations) to point to the network share. This works, but we have 50 users. Is there a way to remotely connect and modify the template path, so I don't have to go around to each PC? Thanks for any suggestions.

The network administrator should be able to handle this through a policy - see Microsoft Office XP - How to Set System Policies.

The messier, older way would be to use a batch file or VBScript in a network logon script to hack the user's registry. This path differs for different versions of Office, making life a bit more complicated. For Office XP, it's:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice10.0Common GeneralSharedTemplates
