Binder with Office XP (Binder 97 or 2000)

    Hi,

We have some business areas who are committed to their Bind (97) applications. We are deploying Office XP which of course doesn't have Binder since it was dropped after Office 2000.

Is anyone using Binder 97 or 2000 with Office XP? this could be a solution for these business areas.

Any gotchas, etc. Is there a third party product that gives the same functionality as Binder.

    TIA,

    Jimmy Lee

We do not use Binder files anymore. You can "unbind" them to original Office formats, as described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/281931. Then you can insert one into another, for example, Excel worksheet into Word document, or Word document into Powerpoint presentation, etc. If you use many documents with the same rank, you can collect them into one archive, say, zip file (it even benefits not only compressing files, but with additional level of security - you can password-protect zip archive and set different passwords to each file). If you use later versions of WinZip, you can open, edit and save Office documents directly from zip file without "unzipping" it.
