My PowerPoint islide s locked and I can't edit my design. Does anyone know what I did or how to unlock it? I've attached the slide. Thanks in advance!

It appears that there is some corruption in the file (I'm not sure what, but I could not unlock it). However, you can rescue your design by selecting all (Ctrl+A), copying to the clipboard and pasting into Word(!). Save and close the Word file and reopen, then group the parts of the design. Finally, copy and paste back into a new PowerPoint slide. You will need to ungroup the design to do additional editing, but I think you know how to do that.

Attached is a fixed copy of the slide.

I have no problem editing the slide you attached. Have you tried quitting and restarting PowerPoint, and if that doesn't help, restarting your PC?

    Hi there -

I may have to use the copy and paste idea. I did try to restart PowerPoint and also restarted my PC with no luck.

    Hans,

I also tried what you suggested about rebooting, but to no avail. I'm using Office 2000 SP-3 on Windows 2000 SP-4 with all the latest Windows patches. Any ideas about why you might have been able to open the file and edit the graphic?

The major difference is that I'm using PowerPoint 2002, not 2000. No idea why that should make a difference, though - the file format in PowerPoint 2000 and 2002 is the same.
