    Header font size (2003)

Is there any way to adjust the font size of the headers in messages received? We would like to be able to read the email addresses & subject a little easier.

    Thanks in advance.

Are you looking for the settings controlled under View|Arrange By|Current View|Customise Current View|Other Settings - and also Automatic Formatting on the same dialog box? HTH

I am not sure which settings to use... I think I have tried them all with no luck. Here is a picture showing what text I want to increase.

Thanks. You are right. I had understood you meant the view of the list of items in the folder.

What you are talking about, unfortunately, is hard-coded into Outlook. The only way that you can change the font size is to change the display of items in Windows it self.

One thing you could look at - in that connection - is working with the font size in the Control Panel applet. (The final Settings tab has an Advanced tab which enables a custom size.) If you work with that - as well as the font sizes on the Appearance tab - you will find that it affects the Outlook font sizes you mention differently from other things. You may not want to go to all that trouble - which will have certain knock-on effects with other parts of Windows.

I think this can be changed by creating a custom form. It's easy to use a custom form to generate a new message, but it's tricky to get incoming messages to appear in your custom form. And using a custom form as your default for a folder can lead to unexpected loss of features (such as tracking information); for example see this thread. But there's little harm in experimenting and seeing what (damage) you can do. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
