Transferring Custom No. Formats (Excel 2003)

    Hi,
I recently read up that to transfer a custom no. format, you need to copy the cell and paste it into the new workbook. Is this the only (best) way to go about this, as I read this up in a book that is 8yrs old. Is there other ways to do this in the latest version of Excel?
    Regards,
    Rudi

    Other methods:

Copy the cell with the custom format, then switch to another open workbook, select the cell(s) to be formatted, and select Edit | Paste Special..., click the Formats option and click OK.

The Format Painter works across workbooks, so you can select a cell with a custom format in one workbook, click the Format Painter, switch to another open workbook, and select the cell(s) to be formatted there.
