Scenarios are a handy what if analysis tool. They are often created by using the Tools | Scenarios Manager Dialog. But scenarios can also be created and maintained using the Scenarios box that can be added to the toolbars.
How :
1. Choose Tools | Customize and select the Commands tab
2. Scroll down and click the Tools Category
3. Drag the Scenario box onto a toolbar to dock it in position
4. Close the Customize Dialog.

To create scenarios using the Scenarios box :
1. Select the cells containing the values to save as a scenario
2. Type a scenario name into the Scenarios box
3. Press enter

To maintain scenarios using the Scenarios box :
1. Select the cells containing the changed values
2. Click in the Scenarios box to activate the name, or select from the list
3. Press enter
4. Select Yes when Excel prompts to save the new values
