    XY scatter chart (2003)

I am trying to create a scatter plot using two columns of data. One column contains numbers ranging from 0 to 475 (y-axis), and the other 0-100 (x-axis). When I create the chart the x-axis scale goes up to 400 and points are plotted up to this maximum, instead of the 100 it should be. Any ideas?

    Click once on the chart.
    Select Chart | Source Data...
    Activate the Series tab.
Check whether the correct ranges are used for the X values and for the Y values.
If not, you can correct them in this dialog.

The series are correct so that doesn't seem to be the problem. FYI I have checked that the data is definitely stored as numbers and not text and have tried pasting it into a new spreadsheet - both of which made no difference.

Could you post (a stripped down copy of) the workbook? Replace sensitive data with dummy data where necessary, and omit material that is not relevant to the problem.
The file should be less than 100 KB; if it is too large, you can zip it and attach the zip file.

There are two data points with an empty string as X value, in row 114 and in row 153. An XY Scatter chart needs to have numeric values for both X and Y. The text values force the chart to be a line chart. If you clear C114 and C153, the missing values will be interpreted as 0, and the chart will be plotted correctly. See attached version.
