    Run To Cursor (Word/XP)

It has taken me about seven years to learn it, but at last I'm enjoying right-click and "Run To Cursor"; all those years setting a break point, F5, clearing the breakpoint. Sigh!.

I noticed today that the "Run To Cursor" is available only after I've started single-stepping through a macro. I find this odd. here I am all ready to test a macro (really! a Public Sub with no parameters), and I thought to r-c and rtc, but the rtc is not available to me until I've either executed a single step, or until I've executed to a break point.

I'm not complianing, honest, but I'd like to know if my thinking is correct. I can't think of a good reason for disallowing this practice. It makes snse to me to use r-c rtc in place of F9, F5, F9.

Yes, that would be usefull. But for now, I use F8 to start single-stepping through the code and then r-c rtc, as you describe it. That's just 1 keystroke more...

Thanks, Jan. While I'm on this learning binge (grin) I'll give your method a try. I certianly love the rtc, but I was worried that my thought process was at fault.

I think Ctrl + F8 is what you are hunting for.

This explains why my life has been such a shambles to date. Thanks Chuck. It's "it".

Left-click on the line (although I've probably been editing it and already have the selection point in place), and a Ctrl-F8. Since I superglued my left thumb to the Ctrl-key ten years ago, it's even faster than you might imagine!

You can use Ctrl+F8 all you want, but your life is still going to be a shambles until you unglue yourself from your keyboard. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
