Paragraph at bottom of page (Word 2002/SP1)

I must be having a brain fade. Let's say that I have a few sentences at the top of a page. Then I want a sentence at the bottom of the page, but not in the footer. Can I do this without using a bunch of carriage returns in between?

One way would be to change the Space Before property of the paragraph that's to go at the bottom of the page. See the attached.

A text box would be another possibility.

The disadvantage of doing it that way is that if you added anything to the paras at the top of the page, the one at the bottom would get shifted and might then move on to the next page.

Here's another suggestion if you don't like the idea of a text box. Insert a table with one column and two rows. Set the row heights to be exactly half the total text height of the page, align the text in the top row to the top and the text in the bottom row to the bottom. Sample attached.

Thanks for the suggestions, folks. I'll implement one of them. It's a shame, with all the bells and whistles in Word, there's not a 'Justify, page bottom' selection.

Provided that you want only one paragraph at the top and one at the bottom you could use Word's page justification to achieve that (File-Page Setup). Problem is that it won't work for you if the "few sentences" that you want at the top of the page are not all contained in the same paragraph as Word will spread the second and subsequent paragraphs down the page.
