Fill-In (Excel 2003)

    Cell A1 I have CA1 C
    Cell A2 I have CA2 C

    I want to select both cells (A1 & A2), go to fill handle and drag down and get

    Cell A3 CA3 C
    Cell A4 CA4 C

    It doesn't work. Is there a way to do this????? Thanks in advance......

    Re: Fill-In (Excel 2003)

    Not directly. You can use the following formula in A1 and copy it down:

="CA"&ROW()&" C"

    If you want leading zeros so that it is CA01 C, etc. then you could use:

="CA"&TEXT(ROW(),"00")&" C"

    Change the number of zeros between the double quotes depending on how many rows you are going to copy it to.
