    Distributing database applications

I have what may be a silly question...Am a relatively new user of Access and was wondering how to go about creating "runtime" versions of a database that someone could use without actually having Access 2000 installed on their computer... Must I purchase the developer edition?

Yes, you will need the Office 2000 Developer Edition. It comes with an add-in called the Packaging and Deployment Wizard. This will allow you to create distributable and installable standalone databases in Access.

Check this site for more information: <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.microsoft.com/Office/previous/developer/>http://www.microsoft.com/Office/previous/developer/</A>
It was the only site I could find with Office 2000. Microsoft has already shifted gears to Office XP.
