Lines Move In Template (Word 2000)

I created a template, and filled in the amount of spaces, I protected the document. When I try to input information, the lines I've established to print text on move all over the page, even though the document is protected. For instance: _______________ and if I try to type my informaiton on it, the line keeps movign over, How do I get it to stay put and not move, I just want to type the informaiton on it.

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

A screen form is quite different from a paper form. Using underscores to type over would only work if you used a fixed-width font such as Courier New, but that makes the form look rather old-fashioned (typewriter style). You'd also have to turn on overtype mode instead of insert mode, which would annoy users if you did't turn if off again when leaving the form.
A solution might be to use text form fields from the Forms toolbar, and if you want them to stay put, to place the fixed text and the form fields in separate (borderless) table cells.
