defrag question (WIN XP Pro)

A friend tries to run defrag but at the end, it says there were some files that could not be defragged. It says the files were C:windowsmemory.dmp. Size of the files is 504 MB. Can these be deleted or what?

Re: defrag question (WIN XP Pro)

Go to Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings

Set the list box entry that says "Small memory dump" (I suspect you currently have this set to "Complete memory dump")

Reboot (I'm not absolutely sure this is necessary)

Then you should be able to delete the old memory.dmp file.[/list]StuartR
