    Action in progress (A2002)

    Hello All,
Is there a way to have a dialog (or information) box that will show that something is happening in the background? What I have is something that is generating several reports. The reports take some seconds to run, at which time I wish to notify the user that the system is busy generating the reports. Of course, the dialog should disappear once the task is complete.

    Thanks,
    Mark

You can change the mouse pointer to an hourglass:
    DoCmd.Hourglass True
    and reset it later:
    DoCmd.Hourglass False

You can display a message in the status bar:
SysCmd acSysCmdSetStatus, "Please wait until reports are ready."
    and reset it later:
    SysCmd acSysCmdClearStatus

You can display a popup form with a label providing information:
    DoCmd.OpenForm "frmPleaseWait"
    Forms!frmPleaseWait.Repaint
    and close the form later:
    DoCmd.Close acForm, "frmPleaseWait"
