Origin of alert messages...
OK, this is a bizarre question, I realize that. But does any one know the exact origin of the alert/error messages for IE? In particular, open Tools|Internet Options|Security|Internet Zone. Custom set this so that "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins" is set to disable. Then go to this page:
<A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.pcnineoneone.com>http://www.pcnineoneone.com</A>
You will get a warning telling you what you already know -- ActiveX is disabled.
What is the source of this message? It is NOT coming from the website (I sniffed the packets) and it is NOT in the registry. It must be coming from some .dll or other file for IE. However, I have spent hours scanning through .dll files with a binary file editor and I cannot find that message. Where is it from?
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
