    idle question (2002)

Just out of curiosity, why does it take appreciably longer to copy a worksheet by
    Edit/Move/Create a Copy/To another workbook
than it does if I create a new worksheet, switch to worksheet to be copied, copy all, switch back, paste?
    Thanks.

Do you mean the time it takes to perform the whole sequence of actions, or just the time Excel takes to copy the worksheet?

    Re: idle question (2002)

It seems more or less instantaneous for me on a worksheet with quite a lot of formulas, but perhaps yours are far more complicated.
The apparent time may also be deceptive: when you use the Edit | Move or Copy Sheet... method, Excel has to do all the work when you click the OK button. When you use the other method, the new workbook has already been created, and the data have already been placed on the clipboard. You don't notice the time this takes because you're busy switching between workbooks. But this is just a guess.
