formatting marks list (2003)

Is there someplace where I can see a list of all the formatting marks? I know the major ones, but am starting to see unfamiliar ones in heavily formatted documents I get from others.

In particular, what does a thing that looks like a c mean if it is at the end of a table row (outside the table)?

Thanks, but I am looking for a much more complete list than that one.

I agree that it's probably an end of row marker, but it looks different than the usual one and I'm trying to figure out why and what it might indicate. I've tried doing Strange Things to the formatting of each row to see if I can figure out what determines it. No luck so far.

If the space between the columns in the table is set to be very small, you may not see the whole end of cell marker and the bit you do see may therefore look like a C.

Hmm. Would that apply if the mark is outside the table and seems to be an end-of-row rather than an end-of-cell?

I'll try narrowing the table width.

The end-of-row marker does look like an end-of-cell marker. With different fonts, margins, etc., it sometimes gets cut off. Still, nothing else in Word looks remotely similar, so if it follows the end of a row, you can be fairly confident that is what it is.

Added: Attached is an illustration of how font size can affect the appearance of the end-of-row marker. In particular, it appears that the space allotted for the marker may not expand to accommodate font larger than 12-14 points.
