    Template font shading (2002)

On Microsoft's web site today, under templates, there's a PPT template called "globe on water."
The title text appears with what looks like shading, but even looking at the slide master, there's no indication that there's shading on the font text.
Can anyone tell me what effect was used here?

That seemed "obvious" to me, but I thought that the shadow style would indicate one of the styles used and none of them are selected.

That is because MS customized the shadow settings using the buttons on the Shadow Settings toolbar (I think the shadow distance is slighty less than the default), hence none of the preset styles applies.
