Event Order with Navigation Button Insert New (2002 10.4302.4219 SP-2)

I have a master form with several sub forms and significant code behind them. I've also used the Access Navigation Buttons rather than writting my own navigation controls on the master form. I've recently had an error pop up, somewhat frequently, after the insert new record button is clicked and before any keystrokes are entered. The error message itself is of no help. In attempting to trap the error, I've been unsuccessful in determining what event is first fired. Can anyone point me to where this is documented? I've searched this site and Microsoft's Knowledgebase with no success.

    Thanks in advance,
    Marty

Does the error message occur when you click the New Record button in the main form or in one of the subforms?
And what was the exact text of the error message?

The New Record button is on the main form. The error message reads "Application-defined or object-defined error."

You probably know this, but just in case...

If you go to the VBEditor, Tools->Options->General and set Error Trapping (temporarily) to Break On All Errors, the error dialog should include a Debug button which, if you choose it, will automatically take you to the VBEditor, with the line that's triggering the error highlighted.

Vaguely aware. Using it I was able to easily track down the problem.

    Thanks for the reminder,
    Marty
