    Spin control! (Access 2000 >)

I found an attachment in <post#=400649>post 400649</post#> by <!profile=MarkD>MarkD<!/profile> that shows how to create a spin control for a form by combining a text box and two command buttons to spin a value up and down. I would like to ask if there is a spin control available as an active x control that is already created and made available. (IOW, is there a spin control available, or must I use a text box and command buttons to recreate a spin control as Mark shows??)
    Regards,
    Rudi

You can use the Microsoft Forms 2.0 Spinbutton or the Microsoft Updown Control 6.0. The latter is not available on all computers, since it does not come with Office Professional. You need to have Office Developer Edition or Visual Studio 6 to be able to distribute it.
Also, native Access controls in general cause fewer problems than non-native ActiveX controls, so Mark's solution is to be preferred.

The spinner button does not give a box displaying a number. (I see it has the min and max value properties etc)! Do you need to link the spinner control to a text box?

You use code to control the text box from the spin button.

There may be third-party ActiveX controls that combine a text box and a spin button into one control, but a quick Google search didn't yield one.

    Tx. You've confirmed my suspicions!
