Which folder holds the data??

I have OE like everyone else -- free with IE. I don't use it, but I have my wife using it as here email client. That way, I use Outlook and she uses OE -- works perfectly as everything stays separate.

However, IE seems to have installed multiple versions of OE over the years (surprise, surprise, eh?). I now have several folders that SEEM to contain OE data. They include:

C:WINDOWSApplication DataIdentities{hex numbers}MicrosoftOutlook Express

C:WINDOWSApplication DataMicrosoftOutlook Express

C:WINDOWSApplication DataMicrosoftOutlook ExpressMail

OK, I think that the "Identities" one is the correct and most recent one, however, all of these folders have Inbox.mdx, Outbox.mdx, SentItems.mdx, etc.

I want to kill all of unnecessary ones and Backup the necessary ones. Can I ignore the ones that are not in "Identities"?? Thanks.

look at the dates on the files - the new ones are the right ones. there is a link to a utility at <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.tomsterdam.com>http://www.tomsterdam.com</A> that will get old mail from other dbx and mbx files and you can move them (drag and drop) them back in the current mail store. the utilities are called mbxtract and dbxtract.
