Data for Pie Chart (Access 2003)

    Ran into a stressful problem...
I have a group of products and we are evaluating the compliance of the components that are used on these products. I have my table setup as Product (Text), Number_of_Yes (Number), Number_of_No (Number), and Number_of_Unknown (Number). What my goal is, is to show a pie chart for the product selected with its different compliances. I think I need a Crosstab query, but I can't seem to get it to work right. Can someone help?

    Thanks!
    Drew

If you want to display a pie chart for one product, you don't need a crosstab query, and you don't need to transform the data. The row in the table corresponding to the selected product will provide the data for the series in the pie chart.

    Hans,
We have been trying this with the Chart Wizard, but can't get what we want. Can you explain how you would get this.

It's possible that I defined the problem incorrectly. The data we are trying to see in the pie chart come from a single record in the table across multiple fields (in that record only).

    Thanks,
    Drew

Could you attach a stripped down copy of the database? See <post#=401925>post 401925</post#> for instructions.

    Hans,

    Here ya go...
The fields for the pie chart have a 'RoHS' prefix.

    Thanks

You stripped away so much that none of the queries and forms in your database worked. I have created a new query and redesigned the form f_Pie from scratch. There is a combo box to select an Item_ID and code to requery the chart when an item is selected.

    Hans,

That's exactly what I'm looking for. I can't seem to replicate this in my DB.
I'm starting to wonder if the wizard is correct or if I'm doing something wrong in the Wizard? It's not allowing me to drop any more than one field per allowable box when it shows multiple fields to the right. I had thought that I done this a few years ago and it allowed me to either hold down the CNTL or SHIFT key to add multiple fields...maybe not, I can't remember but am still only able to drop one field. Any ideas?
    Thanks

The Chart Wizard is limited and clumsy, I can never get it to do what I want, so I always build the query or SQL statement for the Row Source myself. Look at the query I created.

I have the sql script setup, but I'm having problems with the chart table using that data.
    Here's a pict...

The data for your chart are read by column; they should be read by row. There are buttons in the toolbar to switch.
