    Split a cell (97)

I would like to split a cell into two. Either vertically down the middle, or diagonally , and then enter different values / colours into each half. Is this possible?

Adding a diagonal divider and adding content is described in <post#=332700>post 332700</post#> using super/subscripts

To color would involve adding shapes (which could contain the text also). <post#=252740>post 252740</post#> (and the responses) has some code for that.

    Welcome to the lounge.

You don't say why you want the split, but if you are looking for an equivalent of the Split Cells command in Word, Excel doesn't have one.

However, a somewhat similar display can be created by merging cells in adjacent columns, then 'unmerging' the cell in question, as in the attached example. The command is located under Format/Cells/Alignment.
