Yes they are. This time, they provide this link so you can attempt to rectify it for them.

Claude,
Thanks for the link.
Well, here we go again. Round 2 of the Verizon battle.
I sent in the request for whitelist. Lets see what happens.

I hope other Verizon loungers input the request also. I don't understand the mentality of these people at Verizon.

Re: email response AGAIN

Claude,
I have responded to the whitelist link you supplied, twice. When no response was received, I phoned and said it was ME again with the same old problem of have the Lounge put on the blacklist by Verizon.
They wondered why I was the only voice in the wilderness of Verizon that was complaining of this problem? I assume that all of the other loungers using Verizon were having the same problem, but I am the only one who made myself heard. ( one rep suggested that it may be the high volume of emails generated that made the lounge look like a Spammer! )
Is it possible to send out a message or PM to the other Verizon users asking them to submit a request for whitelisting?
As happened the last time, there were some others who complained and the squeaky wheel gets the grease as they say.

Re: email response AGAIN

Just sent a whitelist request in Bob. Hard to imagine that they don't know why this is happening. Something they are doing or have done is the cause. Plain and simple. All they have to do is own up or figure it out. If they wrote the software, I don't see what the problem is.

I have a LOT of "connectivity" issues with Verizon that always are blamed on my modem or router and once I was told it was my connection that the tech wanted me to change while she instructed me "how to" from a manual !!!??? I hung up !! I can be connected and all is fine and then it will just not connect when I go to another site or page. I can walk away, not change anything and come back a couple hours, or sometimes even a few minutes, later and all is fine again. If I call they can fiddle with things on their end and it will work fine again, only to go out again a bit later. I have rebboted system, modem & router adnausium. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I got rid of cable internet service for this same reason. If this keeps up, I may have to bite the bullet and get a T1 line !!

Wait 'til I get my hands on James Earl Jones !!! He'll wish he had his light saber !!

Re: email response AGAIN

Doc,
I haven't THAT kind of problem with Verizon, just the blacklist v. whitelist fiasco.

Do you have a "Westell" modem on your DSL line?
Tell them that the Ready or Link light is blinking or is out at times. In other words, force them to ship you a new modem. Since you can't do much about troubleshooting the modem itself, at least you can eliminate the modem as a source of the problem by replacing it.

Do you hear any static noise on your line when you use it for voice? Easy check is to just use your phone and dial just one digit to get rid of the dial tone and listen carefully for any staic or even "white noise" in the background. IF YOU DO, jump on them real fast and make them clear up the noise. ( you have to make a trouble report to the regular Phone Company repair for this. The DSL people don't lower their standards to talk to the Voice side of the house, even it they both say Verizon.
Boy, what a mistake it was to break up the Bell System into these little (?) spinoffs!

I haven't priced out a T1 line lately but I imagine it means serious bucks in cash flow out your door !

Re: email response AGAIN

But guess who would be your T1 installer?

http://www.t1-t3-dsl-line.com/page/42/

Who will install T1 service for the provider that we choose?

In most cases the installation of the T1 service is handled by the ILEC (Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier) such as Verizon or SBC. These companies are responsible for the last mile of service from the POP (Point-of-presence) to the customer's location. For example, with T1 service the ILEC will come to the customer's location and install the smart jack (RJ-45) and test the circuit through to the T1 carrier. The provider pays the ILEC for the installation of the line and may or may not pass these charges through to the customer. It is uncommon for a representative of a T1 carrier to visit the customer location and be directly involved with the T1 installation.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Re: email response AGAIN

Bob,

I've already had the modem replaced. Along with the wires to and from and swapped out the surge protector and UPS that are connected to the system. The noise had gotten so bad that my speakers were producing a sound like your car radio would produce when you had a short in the ignition system years ago. Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick,........ One tech did tell me that I had major interference on the line, even after all the replacements had been done, and suggested that I remove the splitter I use at the wall jack to connect to the DSL modem and my FAX modem to the same line That's all that I have on this line. No phones at all. Doing that cleared the problem, according to the tech, and it worked for about an hour before going out again. I haven't had any issues this week yet, and am hopeing that everything last week was related to Comcast's problems and the resultant fallout that affected other broadband customers (Comcast customers were trying alternate ways to connect to broadband that they found posted on the internet and it apparently affected the customers of other broadband providers).

I'm sure you noted the "shocked" smilie after my mention of the T1 line. That was an expression of Sticker Shock. T1s are just too pricy for the average user to even consider. I am going to escalate my service request and insist that they send someone out to check my lines. I was outside looking at the lines and noticed that a tree out by the street has engaged what appears to be the phone line and is growing around the cable. If all else fails, I could cut down the tree and bring the phone line down with it. Thus assuring myself of a service call and a new line !!

Re: email response AGAIN

Doc,
That idea of chopping down the tree doesn't sound like a bad idea!
Seriously though, that may well be the problem particularly if you don't have a phone on the line to actually listen in. Can you temporarily move a phone onto the line to check this? A tree rub would cause all kinds of havoc with your service. Does it seem worse when it rains or other moisture is present? it would sound like a humming noise in the background if the line had a wet short or ground.

Meanwhile, back at the Verizon camp, Still no email response from WOPR and to make matters worse, when I booted up this A.M. there was NO internet connection, and NO emails in or out. The tech said it must be the modem and would refer it to the tech support group in 24 to 48 hours. Great !
Lo and behold, just a while ago at least I could connect to the net and get my mail, etc. ( but no WOPR ) The greater challenge lies ahead? A great big SWH, a miracle of sorts.

Why do I doubt Verizon when they say it's fixed?
