    images (excel97)

I have an excel file that stores an image of each style of garment that we are producing for the current season. A number of staff access this file to get a copy of the image to put into other excel files.

There are approximately 250 styles, each belonging to one of three labels.

In Column C is a Style number that is prefixed with a letter to show which label the garment belongs to. The Prefix is equal to the first letter of the name of the label. So if we had a label called ACME, the style number would be prefixed with an

The first thing I would try is to clean up ypur temp folder.

    Close all open applications.
    Click Start, run and enter:
    %temp%
    and hit OK

Now remove all files in that folder.

You say that the images have been pasted using Edit | Paste Special... > Picture. There is usually no Paste Link option when you do this, so the picture shouldn't be linked. You can check this, however by looking at Edit | Links...
If the picture has become corrupt in all workbooks, there may be something else behind this. What happens if another user opens the workbook?

Thank you Jan and Hans for your responses.

I have deleted a large number of the files in the temp folder, and the images have returned. The temp folder is located on my C: drive which is very very full only about 5MB was left before I emptied the recycling bin and the temp folder.

The excel files themselves are stored on a separate drive.

I couldn't get into Edit>Links, this option wasn't available, so guess there are no links.
Other users aren't experiencing the problem any more as it appears to be fixed. I have opened it on a few other PCs and all is well. But I did not check them when I had the problem.

Thank you very much. I was so happy to get this code to work in the first place and then wasn't very happy when I thought I wouldn't be able to use it. Big smile back on my face.
