Web mail replies (Office 2003)

I occasionally receive a reply to a message where I see the reply in the "Desktop Alert" that briefly show shows an incoming message (in my opinion perhaps the best feature of Outlook 2003). However, when I look at the message in Outlook only my original message appears and the reply is gone. I suspect that the sender of the reply is using Web mail, but so far I have been unable to confirm this. Anyone else having this problem?

Sure it wasn't sidetracked by a spam filter or sorting rule? If you get a notification that something arrived, it really would be odd if nothing had, in fact, arrived.

Something did arrive. It was only my original message. The reply to my message appeared in the notification which faded away. When I go to Outlook the message is there from the person replying but the only text is the message I sent. The text of the reply has vanished. If this was a Spam filter or sorting rule issue I would not have received the reply in my In Box.

Oh, I misunderstood. So the reply "fade-up" shows something like "I agree, let's do that" but when you open the message in your Inbox, the other person's text is gone. That is bizarre and inexplicable.

You are correct - very weird.
