User Defined Function (Excel 97 SR2)

I have a user defined function (not sure where I found it) that will get data from a closed workbook. I can use it with a macro but I cannot enter it in a cell like other functions. I can get by with it this way but I would like to be able to type it into a cell as a formula and have it still work. I am attaching two workbooks. The one with the UDF is TestCR.xls and the data is found in TestDataCR.xls.
TestCR.xls has three macros that use the UDF. Am I just not entering it properly when I try to use it as a formula or is it not possible to use as a formula?
I zipped the two workbooks and am attaching the zipped file. There is no real hurry on this, I am just curious as I thougth I should be able to type the UDF as a formula. =GetValue("C:Bin", "TestCR.xls", "Data", "C9")
    Thanks,
    Chuck

I don't know why it doesn't work, but why don't you download and use Laurent Longre's free MoreFunc add-in from Excel add-ins. It contains an INDIRECT.EXT function that reads data from a closed workbook.

    Hans,

Thanks. I wil try Laurent Longre's free MoreFunc add-in again. I tried before but it kept crashing Excel.
Or maybe I will just settle for accessing the UDF via macro, as it does work.
    Thanks again,
    Chuck
