    Netscape remote command (Netscape 4.7)

Is there a way to open a Netscape window (preferably invisible or minimized), navigate to a URL, save that page to a text file, and exit Netscape.

The page that I am navigating to has some info from a database based on a parameter in the URL. If I can save it to a text file, then I can use grep to find the particular piece of information that I need. I use this URL all of the time in an Excel worksheet via Get External Data, but now I am in Unix and a perl script, and at a loss as to how to acess the database. TIA --Sam

There seems to be something in "libwww" for fetching a web page as a string. Not sure whether you need to impersonate a browser or whether the page will just come to you upon request. Here are some possibly useful links:

That's fantastic! LWP will do exactly what I want. Thanks! --Sam
