Re: Access Runtime and Hyperlinks (2003)

Access runtime doesn't allow the use of the standard Access menus, toolbars and shortcut menus. You must create custom versions.

    - Open the database in the full version of Access.
    - Select Tools | Customize...
    - Activate the Toolbars tab.
    - Click New...
    - Give your new toolbar a name and click OK
    - Click Properties.
    - Change the type from Toolbar to Popup.
    - Access will issue a warning; click OK.
    - Tick "Shortcut menus" in the list of toolbars.
    - You will see a special menu bar with categories of shortcut menus.
    - Click on Custom to see the new toolbar you changed to a popup.
    - Click on Form.
    - Click on Form View Control.
    - Drag the Hyperlink item to Custom and wait until your custom popup shows.
    - Drag the item to your popup and wait till it expands.
    - Hold the Ctrl key down and drop the item. Holding Ctrl down ensures that you copy the item instead of moving it.
    - If you want more items in the shortcut menu, repeat the above steps.
    - When you're done, close the Customize dialog.
    - Open the form in design view.
    - Select CenDoc.
    - Activate the Other tab of the Properties window.
    - Click in the Shortcut Menu Bar property.
    - Select your custom popup menu.

    Phew!

Re: Access Runtime and Hyperlinks (2003)

    Thank you so much Hans,
Is it possible to avoid displaying the warning message you get in Access 2003 about the risk hyperlinks might pose when you click to open them?

    Access Runtime and Hyperlinks (2003)

You can right-click the field in the CenDoc text box(with the heading"Linked document") on the start up form of the attached mdb and go on to open the Insert Hyperlink dialog box but that you cannot do if you open the same mdb on pc's that only have the Access Run-time. Is there any way to allow users who only have the Access Run-time to modify or insert hyperlinks?
