COL Reference (Excel 2003)

    what is the formula to get current column reference in alphabet ? As COLUMN() only returns a number, is there a way to return the column reference in alphabet such as A or B ... etc. THanks !

    Re: COL Reference (Excel 2003)

    There is probably an easier way of doing this but try the following:

=LEFT(ADDRESS(1,COLUMN(),4),LEN(ADDRESS(1,CO LUMN(),4))-1)

    For a way of doing it by using VBA see Column Numbers To Letters

    Try:

=LEFT(ADDRESS(1,COLUMN(),4),LEN(ADDRESS(1,COL UMN(),4))-1)
