Not all emails delivered (Outlook 2003 v SP1)

Occasionally, while receiving emails, Outlook will show receiving 1 0f 7, 2 of 7, etc., but only 4 emails are received. What happened to the missing 3?. There are none in my junk mail folder.

Is it possible that you have set Outlook to permanently delete junk mail rather than moving it to the junk folder?

I don't think so. My junk email options are set for "no automatic filtering". I do have quite a long list of blocked senders, but I would expect that emails from them would show up in the junk email folder. However, as I write this, I recall that I switched ISP's to a cable connection a little over 3 months ago and have never had a junk email since switching. The list of blocked senders is a carry over from my dial-up ISP.

Your options can be set for "no automatic filtering" AND "permanently delete......". Have you checked? Either your options are set this way OR your ISP is doing a wonderful job of filtering.

I have checked "no automatic filtering". and have not checked "permanently delete", or any other of the options. I doubt that my ISP is filtering. I attribute the lack of spam to changing my email address and being careful what sites I visit and leave an address. If the ISP was filtering before messages got to me, wouldn't you expect those not to be included in the count of emails being received?

Yes, your lack of spam could certainly be attributed to a new e-mail address. I just found it odd that you stated that you have "never received a junk email since switching". And you are also correct that if your ISP was filtering, those messages should not be included in the count - but they are - and you say that you have no rules to either delete them or divert them to your junk folder. <img src=/S/hmmn.gif border=0 alt=hmmn width=15 height=15>
