shared drive name on Apple (XP Pro PS2)

We have a couple of people using Apples on our peer-to-peer network. When they look at other computers over the network, there is no distinction as to which computer is being shown as all show up as "C:". Under the dialog box for my C: drive properties, network sharing, there is a box for "Share name:". However, I can't access the box to change it from "C". Is there a way to change the network share name?
    Thanks.

    Can you clarify:
"Under the dialog box for my C: drive properties...."
Is this on an Apple or XP?

I'm guessing you are on XP. Do you have an option to create a new share? - if so, that would be the way to create a new name. If not, it may be you need to be logged in with Admin permissions to set up a new name/share.

The 'C$' (or any drive letter+$) share name is automatically established on 'NT' based systems. It is intended to be used for administrative purposes. It will not appear as a network share. In Windows Explorer you can still access the share by typing computerdrive$ (as long as you have the permissions to access the share).
