    Turn off cache? (IE6 SP1)

Is there a small program to temporarily turn off cache and history file collection? And then turn back on again when I want?

I don't want to empty the whole cache, just disable for periods of time.

Do you mean you want to freeze the cache and history with current content, go and do some browsing without the content or history being cached, then turn them back on as if you hadn't opened IE?

I would have thought it theoretically impossible as IE would need some sort of cache for use in a current download. How about a batch file to copy the contents, then copy back when you've finished?

What happens if you try to do this through the Internet Options dialog?

Yes, that is what I would like to do. Whether it is possible is the first question. The second question is how to go about doing it.
