    default table borders (2000 (9.0. 4402 SR-1))

Is there any way to make your new tables default to having no borders. I just copied in an Excel file that only had some borders inside (as formatted text (RTF)), but my Word took over and put black 3/4 inch borders on every cell. I actually wanted the borders to come in as they were; now I have to go in and manually remove the borders that shouldn't be there. I used to have a feature that allowed me to set a table as my default. Is that feature still around in 2000? I'm unable to find it. Thanks.

    3/4 inch? <img src=/S/yikes.gif border=0 alt=yikes width=15 height=15>

Pressing Ctrl+Alt+U will remove all cell borders, but that won't help if you paste an Excel table with cell borders.

To set a default table format, select Table | Table AutoFormat..., select a format you like, set or clear the check boxes at the bottom the way you prefer and click Default...

Whoops, I meant 3/4-point borders. Thanks for the tip.
