Queries using form info to define ranges (Access 2000)

I need the criteria of a field in a query to pull the value from a text box in a form. The value to be taken from the text box is the lower limit to a range of acceptable values. The criteria needs to function like the following.

    > Forms![Search]![dd_Parameter_1]

Yes, I have. It did not work in that form.

    Check very carefully that:
    - Search is the exact name of the form.
    - dd_Parameter_1 is the exact name of the text box on the form.
    - The form is open.
    - Something has been entered in the text box.
