    Take a look here. I use Norton so my opinion wouldn't mean much. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

The AV works smoothly, particularly with automatic updates; I wish the firewall were more sophisticated, but I know I can download the free Sygate Personal Firewall if I really want to tweak it. I haven't played with the anti-spyware features very much. The reviews generally are quite good, especially when considering resource consumption. Competitive upgrade pricing is available for McAfee and Symantec users. Search here for past threads for more info.

Disclaimer: I do legal work for Trend Micro.

As Jefferson said, if you search The Lounge, you will see lots of favorites mentioned, including PC-cillin. I'm in my third year with the product and prefer it very much more than my prior experiences with Norton AV and McAfee. It runs very unobtrusively and does NOT hog system resources. Pattern file updates are frequent and easy to (semi-automatically) deal with. I'd heartily say: Go For It. And, I DO NOT have any interest in or business relationship with Trend Micro.

I've been using Pc-cillin for eight months and prefer it to NAV.

IMHO, it's much less intrusive into the OS. Also, their tech support is much more accessible than Symantec's (and it's free). I've only had to call once with a minor issue.
